We are thrilled to have completed our eco house on the incredible one acre Lott in Taos, New Mexico. The core idea for the concept was inspired by the legendary Georgia O'Keeffe and her iconic ‘Door in a Wall’ series. She repeatedly painted a real door in her courtyard in Abiquiu. Her home is an inspiration, combining the traditional with modern minimalism. The Lott is very elemental so we planned the space around a protected courtyard with the most of the space facing south with large warehouse style windows to maximise on the winter light. We had a super tight budget which one might think would create compromise but we used this as driving factor that led to a super efficient and minimal design. It just got better with every edit we made!
